Having heard about the Elephant Boatyard and our love of wooden boats – both new and old – journalist Simon de Burton visited the yard before lockdown to see what the fuss was all about. A meeting with Tom and Matt, and a tour of the yard to see inside the shed and witness the Nigel Irens 51ft ketch being built was enough to prompt him to write this fantastic piece about the yard.
